Hey Everybody!
Been having a little sugar cravings lately and when it comes to sweets, cinnamon sugar treats are definitely my favourite! When I had some leftover tortilla and pita bread, I thought why not mix it up and make some “chips” out of it! It’s a great way to turn a few days old pita into something great!
These Cinnamon Sugar chips are definitely an ideal snack to keep around! Super simple to make of course 🙂 and deliciously sweet!
Ingredients:
- 6 medium sized tortillas or 6 pita breads
- 1 butter flavoured cooking spray or 3 tablespoons of butter
- 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
Cooking Directions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Cut the pita bread into halves, then cut into equally sized wedges.
- If you’re using tortillas, cut into equally sized wedges as well.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Brush both sides of the tortilla/pita with the melted butter or spray both sides with the butter spray and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over both sides.
- Place on the baking tray, evenly spaced apart and bake for 12 – 15 minutes. If you desire a crispier texture, bake 3 – 5 minutes longer but not too long or it’ll be burnt!
- Let cool for 3 minutes before serving.
- Enjoy!
A great snack to keep in a mason jar or for just when you’re feeling snacky! Sweet and delicious, maybe not so healthy but hey, let’s live a little! 😛
Try it out and let us know!
See you in the Kitchen.
