Crispy Chicken Fingers!

Hey Everyone!

Friday’s here! Today we’ve got the perfect appetizer or mid-day snack that the entire family is bound to love! Chicken fingers! We are aware that chicken does not have fingers :P, but we sure can try to make them and make them taste good :D!

Similar to Chicken tenders but with a bigger crunch!

Chicken fingers

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium-sized, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips about finger length and 0.5″ wide.
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup of buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Cooking Directions:

  1. Get a large mixing bowl and combine the egg, buttermilk, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add in the chicken and cover; refrigerate for 2 – 4 hours to let the chicken marinate.
  2. Once ready, get another large bowl and add in the flour, bread crumbs, salt, and baking powder, mix well and dip each chicken strip into the flour mixture, coating it well, repeat for all the strips and set it on a tray.
  3. Get a frying pan over high heat with oil, once the oil is hot, fry the chicken strips in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side, ensuring you do not burn it! If you notice it’s turning black too quickly, lower the heat. Set aside once golden brown on both sides and drain on paper towels
  4. Serve!

Super easy recipe that the kids will definitely love, I’d say that mozzarella sticks are the perfect companion to go with this! And when it comes to condiments, we’d recommend ketchup (check out our homemade ketchup recipe! )!

Alright give it a whirl and let us know!

See you in the Kitchen.
